About Crab Apple Farm

Crab Apple Farm is a small vegetable farm in Cape Breton, located in the Hunters Mountain area. Run by us (Stephanie and Dan), the farm began when we left city life behind in search of a quieter, slower way of living.

We moved to the property in 2022 and have been steadily restoring a 150-year-old farmstead. This has meant clearing years of overgrowth, repairing what we can, and learning the land as we go.

As a local family-run farm, we sell what we grow through the Cape Breton Food Hub, supply a small number of local restaurants, and offer seasonal harvest options directly to our community.

There is still plenty ahead for us, including building new garden beds, upgrading the greenhouse, and caring for a wild old apple orchard that has been growing here for generations. We share updates on on Facebook and Instagram for anyone who’d like to follow along.
